Aeronautical Information Management (AIM)

  • Fulfil the state responsibility of providing critical and time-sensitive Aeronautical Information in order to maintain the safety, regularity, and efficiency of air navigation in compliance with National Regulations and ICAO standards and recommended practices.
  • Manage the production and distribution of the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) including Aeronautical Information Supplements and Aeronautical Information Circulars with permanent or long-term information.
  • Manage the production and distribution of accurate and quality Aeronautical Charts, and Electronic Terrain and Obstacle Data (eTOD).
  • Manage the production and distribution of the required digital aeronautical products in Aeronautical Information Exchange Model format, AIP Dataset, and Obstacle Dataset.
  • Manage the production and distribution of Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) and Valid NOTAM List to facilitate the availability of updated temporary, critical, and time-sensitive aeronautical information.
  • Ensure that all Instrument Approach procedures, Standard Arrival procedures, Standard Departure procedures, and ATS Routes for en-route navigation are in compliance with National Regulations and ICAO standards and recommended practices.
  • Manage AIM operational staff specialized training including validations, recurrent training, and annual competencies to ensure meeting the required standards.
  • Assess the potential safety risks and system limitations in the AIM operational environment, conduct investigations in case of errors, identify root cause, corrective and preventive actions, as well as develop contingency and mitigation plans.
  • Ensure the continuous improvement of systems taking into account ‘international best practice’ and the latest technology solutions.
  • Ensure effective collaboration with stakeholders e.g., UAE International and Domestic Airports, UAE Air Navigation Service Providers, UAE Ministries or federal authorities, other countries’ AIS providers, international aeronautical data providers, airfield system suppliers, GCAA Regulators including ANA, Flight Safety, Security, PRP, etc.
