OMBY AD 2.20 LOCAL TRAFFIC REGULATIONS

2.20.1 Apron Operations
2.20.1.1 Arriving aircraft will taxi to the apron using either TWY A or TWY B.
2.20.1.2 Aircraft shall follow lead-in and aircraft stand markings to park with nose-in facing the terminal following marshaller instructions.
2.20.2 UponDeparting requestaircraft fromshall departing aircraft push-back informationfrom shallaircraft bestand providedaccording byto AFISmarshaller’s instructions.
2.20.3 Limitation on the operation of the Aerodrome.
2.20.3.1 Aerodrome is designed for Code E aircraft specification (See AD Chart). Operators are advised of the following:
  1. Circuit direction: Left hand RWY 31 and Right hand RWY 13.
  2. Fixed wing aircraft shall use full runway length, using the turn pad at the end of each runway, for departures. However, intersection departures are also available on request.
  3. Caution: Fixed wing float plane operations take place from the island harbor located at position 241552.28N 0523614.19E.
  4. Due to the Government designation of Sir Bani Yas Island as a conservation area, wildlife activity at the aerodrome may be considered a constant hazard that all crew shall consider when operating to OMBY. Wildlife activity in and around the lagoon to the South of the aerodrome, including that portion within the boundary, may present a significant hazard during the first and last phases of flight, due to its proximity to the runway.
  5. Caution: Active military danger areas 4.5 NM to the south of airfield.
  6. Avoid overflying palace to South West of airport.
2.20.3.2 Engine testing restrictions as follows:
  1. Idle engine tests permitted on Apron, at discretion of operator, with ATC coordination (between sunrise and sunset).
  2. Full power tests to be conducted on RWY (between TWY A and TWY B), with ATC coordination (between sunrise and sunset).
2.20.3.3 Helicopters
  1. Helicopters are to land/depart from main runway and taxi / hover-taxi to apron.
  2. Helicopters should avoid overflying lagoons to the west of airport due high bird concentrations.
2.20.3.4 VFR Traffic
  1. Refer to chart OMDL-AD-2-91 for VFR routes.
