The AIP Emirates FIR and associated NOTAM are compiled from a variety of sources. Information is acquired from the Emirates and from external government and commercial sources. The greatest care is exercised in the assembly and compilation of information for the AIP Emirates FIR and NOTAM and they are considered to be as reliable as possible at the time. However, the General Civil Aviation Authority will not be held responsible for the accuracy of the contents of the AIP or associated NOTAM.
The Authority shall not be responsible for the adequacy or receipt of NOTAM or reprint pages for the AIP.
Pre-flight information and other bulletins are issued by airport briefing offices which are operated under the authority of the appropriate Department of Civil Aviation. The GCAA is not responsible for the accuracy and / or completeness of the contents of bulletins issued by these offices.
Whilst acknowledging the important role played by commercial aeronautical information agencies, ultimate responsibility for ensuring that the briefing obtained is complete and current rests with the pilot in command. A last minute updates to third party supplied briefing material can be obtained from briefing offices.
The AIP issued in electronic format (eAIP), is the basic aeronautical information document published for the EMIRATES FIR, and contains information of a lasting character essential to air navigation.
The eAIP is available in English only and is maintained up to date by an amendment service consisting of amended pages, and in case of minor amendments, listing them in GEN 0.5. Amendments together with check lists, are issued as either AIRAC AIP Amendments in accordance with the AIRAC cycle, or as an AIP Amendment published on an AIRAC effective date.
AIP Supplement, if any are included in an AIP package. Pages if printed should be in yellow colour and kept in the front of the AIP whilst valid. They represent temporary changes to the AIP of long duration (three month or longer) and supplementary information of operational significance containing comprehensive text or graphics.
Publication of the AIP Supplement normally follows the AIRAC cycle. Cancellation of AIP Supplement is by either NOTAM or by 'cover page' of an AIP Amendment.
AIP supplements are available to registered users on the GCAA website (see GEN 1.1).
Aeronautical Information Circular, if any, are included in an AIP package. They contain information that does not qualify for the origination of a NOTAM or for inclusion in the AIP, but which relates to flight safety, air navigation, technical, administrative or legislative matters.
Publication of AIC normally follows the AIRAC cycle. Cancellation of AIC is by either 'cover page' of an AIP Amendment or by checklist.
AIC are available to registered users on the GCAA website (see GEN 1.1).
NOTAM distributed by telecommunications are issued mainly for the notification of temporary information of timely significance, unforeseen changes in serviceability or any emergency. They are distributed in two series in the NOTAM system format as follows:
Series A - NOTAM containing full information on all airports, facilities and procedures available for use by International civil aviation, promulgated both internationally and nationally.
Series B - NOTAM containing information of concern to aircraft other than those engaged in International civil aviation, promulgated nationally and to selected adjacent states on request.
Each NOTAM is assigned a serial number starting with number 0001 at 0000 UTC on 1st January each year.
A Pre-flight Information Bulletin containing all NOTAM applicable to the planned route will be made available on specific request to the appropriate airport briefing office.
Note: Some briefing offices provide self briefing facilities only. See tables in GEN 3.1.5.
Prior notice is required for bulletins. The required notice period varies between airports and is listed under the appropriate airport entry in GEN 3.1.5.
This prior notice period is extended to 24 hours in the case of bulletins containing NOTAM from outside the coverage area specified for the appropriate airport briefing office.
Pre-flight Information Bulletins are not available from the International NOTAM Office.
A checklist of valid NOTAM is sent by AFS every Sunday to all recipients of UAE NOTAM. The checklist includes reference to the serial number and validity date of the current and published AIRAC amendment, AIP supplement and AIC.
A link to the summary of valid NOTAM is emailed to corresponding international NOTAM Offices or interested parties every Sunday. The summary includes full details of all current NOTAM and reference to the serial number and validity date of current and next AIRAC amendment, AIP supplement and AIC.
Summary of valid NOTAM is available to AIP amendment service subscribers on request. It is also available on the GCAA website (see GEN 1.1).
All publications of the Aeronautical Information Services may be obtained from the AIM Office at the address listed in GEN 3.1.1.2. They are available on a free reciprocal exchange basis to International AIS and NOTAM offices on request.
For others the publications are available for free on the GCAA website (see GEN 1.1), subject to registration. To subscribe for the CD version of the AIP, the current charges are AED 500.00 (USD 137.00), excluding postal charges, per copy of the AIP payable in advance. The purchase price includes free AIP Amendment, AIP Supplement and AIC service for the remainder of the calendar year of purchase.
For subsequent years the annual cost of AIP Amendments / AIP Supplement / AIC service is AED 200.00 (USD 55.00) per copy payable in advance.
Full payment details will be provided on request and are shown on individual invoices.
