ENR 3.6 En - route holding

3.6.1 En-route holding procedures are established at the positions indicated in the adjoining table. RNAV systems with holding functionality are mandatory to fly the holds. If unable to comply advise ATC on first contact with EMIRATES ACC.
3.6.2 En-route aircraft may be required to hold elsewhere for traffic purposes. Traffic required to hold en-route will be passed holding instructions by ATC.
3.6.3 Holding aircraft will be radar monitored to ensure separation from other aircraft and if necessary terrain clearance.
3.6.4 A standard rate of descent in en-route holding patterns as described in ENR 1.5.1.2 will be used unless otherwise instructed by ATC.

Note: An EAT is the expected time to leave the en – route holding fix. Issuance of which is as per ICAO Doc 4444 PANS ‐ ATM, paragraph 6.5.7
