UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) made a step closer toward a paperless working environment with the announcement of a new set of e-services for the civil aviation industry.
Three major services are now made electronic and accessible through GCAA website. To promote awareness for this initiative, the GCAA held a workshop at Emirates Engineering attended by approved aircraft maintenance organizations in the local and international aviation industry.
The presentation was headed by the Director of Airworthiness Mr. Ahmed Al Rawahi along with a team of technical experts from GCAA.
The new e-services speed the process time for licensing of aircraft maintenance companies. There are currently 46 aircraft maintenance company registered in the country which will benefit for the new service.
GCAA advised the civil aviation industry that the e-services will be shadowed with hard- copy applications for three months. However, by 01st July 2013, no hard-copy applications will be accepted.
