IT Strategic Planning and Innovation

  • Develop, implement, execute, and monitor a comprehensive Information Technology strategy that aligns with the Authority’s objectives and operational plans.
  • Identify, implement, manage, and maintain required cloud solutions in line with governmental and business requirements.

IT Infrastructure Investments Management

  • Prepare and monitor the annual IT budget including the business units’ requirements, ensuring priority investments based on their potential impact on business outcomes and return on investment.

Governance, Compliance, and Security

  • Develop, review, and ensure compliance with an Information Technology governance framework comprising related standards, policies, and processes.
  • Manage the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of GCAA’s IT infrastructure, applications, and e-services to ensure compliance with approved guidelines, standards, and principles.
  • Enhance IT capabilities and cybersecurity posture through internal initiatives and strategic partnerships.

IT Operations and Project Management

  • Assess, review, and approve the overall GCAA Information Technology needs and requests from all business units.
  • Conduct feasibility analysis (‘make or buy’, ‘cost/benefit’), approve IT procurement, and oversee supplier selection, negotiation, and order fulfillment. Oversee strategic sourcing for IT systems and hardware.
  • Involve and lead management committees for formulating IT-related decisions and ensure alignment with government initiatives and international standards.
  • Identify and leverage emerging technologies to drive GCAA towards being Digital, Virtual, Smart, and Sustainable.
  • Manage software development practices and existing IT applications, ensuring automation and process improvement opportunities with business units through emerging technologies.
  • Ensure effective planning, delivery, governance, and management of the portfolio of IT projects aligned with business and governmental requirements.
