  • Support the UAE Government in protecting and safeguarding passengers, crew, ground personnel, the general public, aircraft and facilities against acts of unlawful interference based on risk assessment.
  • Support the UAE Government in enhancing civil aviation in compliance with ICAO Aviation Security and Dangerous Goods Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) as outlined in ICAO Annexes.
  • Support the UAE Government in the development, review, maintenance and issuance of National Aviation Security policies, legislation and programmes in coordination with other national authorities.
  • Develop and maintain the provisions contained in the UAE GCAA Civil Aviation Regulation – Part VI (Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air) in line with ICAO Annex 18 (Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air) and ICAO Technical Instructions.
  • Assess, approve and/or accept Aviation Security Programmes for Airport Operators, Aircraft Operators, and other stakeholders as required by the UAE GCAA National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP).
  • Conduct Aviation Security and Dangerous Goods related risk-based oversight activities, to monitor and ensure effective compliance with the requirements of UAE GCAA CAR Part VII (Aviation Security) and CAR Part VI (Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air).
  • Provide technical and secretarial support to the UAE National Civil Aviation Security Committee and other related committees as mandated by the UAE GCAA National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP).
