Accident Prevention and Safety Promotion

Manage and analyze the investigation database, review trends and significant occurrences from ROSI and VORSY databases, and issue alerts including mitigation measures.
Manage awareness initiatives related to prevention of aviation accidents to raise awareness about aviation safety among industry professionals, operators, and the general public.
Manage the implementation of the Sector's education programs to all the sector's stakeholders.
Manage the Sector's related functions in the UAE State Safety Program (SSP) and represent the Sector in the SSP related activities.
Carry out Accident Prevention and Safety studies, and issue and publish investigation notices, and alerts.
Determine and publish periodic reports on air accidents/incidents safety analysis, safety recommendations implementation, and annual performance report.

Develop advanced laboratory capabilities for digital accident reconstruction technologies, and material examination (metallurgy, electronics, fluids, etc).
Manage Abu Dhabi Flight Recorders Laboratory (AD-FRL) to cater for the need of downloading and analysis capabilities of the existing and new aircraft.
Conduct investigation of occurrences that do not fall under Annex 13 provisions, such as:
- Light sport activities (LSA)
- Recreational flying, drones
- Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV)
- Urban aerial mobility (UAM), etc.
Conduct accident investigations that fall under Annex 13 provisions according to the contingency plan.
Conduct flight recorders investigation and submit reports to the investigator in charge (IIC).
