Senior Expert – Air Traffic Management at UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) is a prominent figure in the Air Navigation Services arena of the GCC and the Middle East. He has more than 25 years of vast experience in managing, designing, testing, training and implementing Communication, Navigation and Surveillance systems and procedures. Originally an Air Traffic Controller (ATC), Hamad progressed steadily in his career through the roles of Quality Control Officer, Air Traffic Service Instructor, Head of ANS Research and Dataset, Director Air Traffic Management, Air Navigation Services Specialist and chairs several task forces and committees including Chairman of ICAO Middle East Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) Task Force. He managed many significant projects throughout his career including the design and implementation of the ATM system in Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre as well as three UAE airports and has been the designer and project manager of the first operational Arrival Management system in the Middle East and Manager of the Next Generation ATM system project, catering for air traffic growth in the UAE Flight Information Region (FIR) until 2035. Hamad played a lead role in transitioning all Area Control Centre (ACC) Sectors to the new state of the art facility without any disruption to air traffic flow when the UAE GCAA moved its Air Navigation Services Provision Sector to Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre.
