The President of the Republic of Colombia, Mr. Iván Duque Márquez, received in his office His Excellency Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the General Civil Aviation Authority and the accompanying delegation. The meeting was also attended by His Excellency Salem Rashed Al Owais, the UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Colombia. The Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Colombia, Mr. Jair Orlando Fajardo Fajardo illustrated the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding, signed in Bogota on 6 December 2021, which resulted in granting the UAE national carriers additional air traffic rights that enable them to operate scheduled flights via a third country to the Colombian capital, Bogota, which will strengthen the air link between the two states. Accordingly, President Ivan expressed his great pleasure to H.E. Saif Muhammad Al-Suwaidi with the outcomes of this agreement and stressed the importance of accelerating the commencement of operations to establish the air connectivity between the two countries and revitalize trade exchange. At the end of the meeting, the Colombian President conveyed the Head of delegation his warm greetings to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
