The role of the Director General Office is as follows:

  • Coordinating with government agencies, delegations, stakeholders and other entities
  • Planning and coordinating the agenda and calendar of events of the Director General with respective parties
  • Providing a full range of administrative support to the Director General, including managing and maintaining records of all incoming and outgoing correspondence, reports, documentation, and supporting the Director General in preparing presentations, reports and meetings
  • Following up and coordinating closely with the GCAA units and various external parties on items requested by the Director General
  • Supporting the Director General in specialized administrative areas, such as managing and handling all protocols related the DG
  • Distributing and publishing all official decrees and approved documents
  • Liaising with external accountants and other financial operations, and supporting the preparation of the annual budget
  • Liaising with the Strategy and International Affairs sector on all official communication and events
  • Preparing the Annual Event schedule for the Director General in relation with communication and media
  • Managing the External and International Relations unit responsible for developing strategies to promote UAE position on key aviation related issues, managing cooperation initiatives and executing memoranda of understanding, provisioning cooperation training and technical assistance to other states, maintaining GCAA relationship with local government entities and managing the ICAO council candidacy campaign.
