GEN 0.1 Preface

0.1.1 Publishing Authority

0.1.1.1 Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre AIM Department is certified to publish the UAE Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) under the authority of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the United Arab Emirates.
0.1.1.2 Information contained within the AIP relating to matters for which the Civil Aviation Authorities of other Emirates are responsible is normally published, as received, on their behalf. Their consent is obtained for any editorial changes required by the UAE AIM office. The responsible Civil Aviation Authorities are:
  1. Emirate of Abu Dhabi

  2. Emirate of Dubai

  3. Emirate of Fujairah

  4. Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah

  5. Emirate of Sharjah

0.1.2 Applicable ICAO documents

0.1.2.1 ICAO documents applicable to this AIP are:
  1. Annex 15: Aeronautical Information Services

  2. Doc 8126: Aeronautical Information Services Manual

  3. Annex 4: Aeronautical Charts

  4. Doc 8697: Aeronautical Chart Manual

0.1.2.2 Other applicable ICAO documents are listed wherever required by the AIP format specified in Appendix 1 of Annex 15.

0.1.3 AIP Structure and amendment interval

0.1.3.1 The AIP has been structured in accordance with the Standards and Recommended Practices of Annex 15 to the Chicago Convention. There is no fixed frequency for AIRAC amendments. AIRAC amendments are published as required and effective dates conform to the schedule of AIRAC dates. The planned AIRAC amendment dates for the year are advised in advance by means of an AIC.
0.1.3.2 The format specified in Appendix 1 of Annex 15 is followed throughout this AIP except that the AIP does not normally duplicate information published either within itself or elsewhere. Information published elsewhere is duplicated only when required for ready reference and when it is not subject to change. In cases where the format requires duplication reference is made to where the information can be found.
0.1.3.3 The amendment service follows the AIRAC cycle specified in Doc 8126, Aeronautical Information Services Manual Chapter 4.

0.1.4.1 In the compilation of the AIP, care has been taken to ensure that the information contained therein is accurate and complete. Any errors or omissions which may nevertheless be detected, as well as any correspondence concerning the publication mentioned, should be referred to:
