OMAL AD 2.20 LOCAL TRAFFIC REGULATIONS

2.20.1 Flying over AL AIN city and other built up areas prohibited below 3000 FT except aircraft/helicopters landing or taking-off at downtown RWY and helipads
2.20.2 Training at Al Ain International Airport is subject to Al Ain Flow Control System and approval from both ATS Al Ain (+971 3 709 2047) and ABU DHABI RADAR EAST.
2.20.3 Code F Aircraft Taxi Routing
2.20.3.1 CODE F or A380 aircraft shall only use Taxiways A, E, F, L, M and O. Backtracking and 180 degree turns not allowed on the runway.

OMAL AD 2.22 FLIGHT PROCEDURES

2.22.1 Al Ain ATZ - entry/exit points for VFR helicopters

The reporting points listed on VFR Routes chart (OMAL AD 2-91) apply to all VFR helicopters entering, exiting or transiting the Al Ain ATZ, except for locally based helicopters operating to and from helicopter training areas.

2.22.2 Radio Communication Failure within Al Ain ATZ
  1. In case of communication failure aircraft shall conform to the procedures specified in Annex 2, Chapter 3, para. 3.6.5.2,
  2. Following unsuccessful attempts to established RTF contact:
    1. Aircraft should squawk 7600
    2. Maintain VMC, observe and follow traffic in the circuit
    3. Make a low approach and rock the wings or flash landing lights
    4. Join the circuit west of the airfield
    5. Watch Tower for visual signals
2.22.3 Standard Instrument Departures (SID)
2.22.3.1 Departing aircraft shall contact ABU DHABI RADAR EAST as soon as possible after passing 2000 FT, unless otherwise instructed by AL AIN TOWER.

Note: see ENR 1.6.1.3 for action in the event of radio failure.

2.22.3.2 Departing IFR traffic leaving ABU DHABI CTA while on a SID or under radar control is required to:
  1. Climb at a minimum gradient of 7.4% (450 FT per NM) from RWY 01 and 7% (425 FT per NM) from RWY 19, to 3000 FT;
  2. Observe speed restrictions as per FMS coding tables;
  3. Level restrictions that apply at waypoints is displayed on the chart;
  4. Advise ATC at start-up if unable to comply
2.22.3.3 Level Restrictions
2.22.3.3.1 Initial climb is restricted to 3,000 FT. Further climb clearance as instructed by ABU DHABI RADAR EAST.
2.22.3.3.2 Comply with level and speed restrictions that apply at waypoints displayed on the chart and FMS coding tables.
2.22.3.3.3 Aircraft when first approaching a cleared level should ensure that the vertical closure speed is not excessive and must avoid overshooting the cleared level, manually overriding if necessary.
2.22.3.3.4 ATC may cancel a SID and provide direct routing or radar vectoring.

2.22.4 Standard Instrument Arrivals (STAR)
2.22.4.1 ATC clearances issued to arriving traffic will include a STAR.
2.22.4.1.1 Aircraft flying STARs shall be certified for RNAV 1 with GNSS operations.
2.22.4.1.2 Advise ATC if unable to comply. ATC will issue an alternative clearance.
2.22.4.2 Level Restrictions
2.22.4.2.1 Traffic landing AL AIN / INTERNATIONAL (OMAL) shall cross CTA entry points as per the prescribed levels in the coding tables below.
2.22.4.2.2 Comply with level and speed restrictions that apply at waypoints displayed on the chart and FMS coding tables.
2.22.4.2.3 Aircraft when first approaching a cleared level should ensure that the vertical closure speed is not excessive and must avoid undershooting the cleared level, manually overriding if necessary.
2.22.4.3 Additional speed and level restrictions are applicable and will be instructed by ATC.
2.22.4.4 ATC may cancel a STAR and provide direct routing or radar vectoring. ATC will subsequently issue track miles to touchdown.

2.23.2.3 Visibility below 1500 M is reported in the following incremental steps:

25 M to 400 M: 25 M

400 M to 800 M: 50 M

800 M to 1500 M: 100 M

2.23.3 Engine runs
2.23.3.1 Medium and heavy aircraft performing engine run with greater power than idle will only be allowed at TWY Quebec, facing west.
2.23.4 Warning on ATZ Airspace congestion

During the hours of Sunrise to Sunset (SUN-THU), pilots are to exercise caution when operating within Al Ain ATZ (Class D Airspace) due to high levels of VFR fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft operating on and around the aerodrome.
