The ANA Department reports directly to Executive Director Aviation Safety Affairs Sector. The Director ANA has been appointed to manage all of the Air Navigation and Aerodrome regulatory and safety manage the department policy and planning and oversight activities for all UAE civil ANSPs, UAE Airspace, civil international aerodromes and civil domestic aerodromes catering for Air Service operations. The ANA Department is divided into two sections. The Manager Air Navigation Section is appointed to manage all Air Navigation Inspector regulatory and safety oversight activities related to UAE civil ANSPs and airspace. The Manager Aerodromes Section is appointed to manager all Aerodrome Inspector regulatory and safety oversight activities related to UAE civil international aerodromes and civil domestic aerodromes catering for Air Service operations.

The ANA Department is responsible for the civil regulatory and safety oversight of:

• Air Space Planning & Design Services (ATM)
• Air Traffic Services (ATS) 
• Communications, Navigation and Surveillance, Aeronautical Information Resource Services (CNS AIRS)
• Aeronautical Information Management  Services (AIM)
• Aviation Meteorology  Service (MET)
• Search and Rescue Coordination Services (SAR)
• Aerodrome & Heliport Operators (AOP)
• Aerodrome Emergency Planning (AEP)
• Aerodrome Rescue and Fire Fighting Services (RFFS)
